WRT 150 & 160
Course Overview and Syllabi
My courses are designed to provide students with exposure to a wide variety of written and visual texts. Hands-on, collaborative and multi-media assignments engage students to become more involved in--and excited about-- their learning and the course content. Concepts in rhetoric are taught to have real-life connections to students' career choices and use between disciplines and departments.
In-class meetings are a blend of mini-lectures, class discussions, workshopping, group work and instructor conferencing.
Online class "meetings" seek to engage students in discussions regarding course concepts and materials.

WRT 150 - Sample Assignments
Assignments in WRT 150 introduce the concepts of rhetorical analysis, audience, visual rhetoric and cross-curriculum learning.
Students engage in a variety of written and multimedia assignments--from analysis to primary research.

WRT 160 - Sample Assignments
Projects in WRT 160 introduce the concepts of academic writing, research and synthesis of sources.
Students engage a wide variety of both secondary and primary research to construct an academic, research-based argument, based on an inquiry of their choosing.
Students also have an oppotunity to observe--and write about--a subculture from within their community, allowing them to explore the concept of ethical research practices and concepts outside of "the box."
